Description
In our gallery without walls, the narrative continues to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Corriere della Sera: here is an artwork by Giovanni Rizzoli in which the “Corriere” becomes a symbolic support for a narrative that disrupts journalistic language, transforming it into both a poetic exercise and a warning.
A special artwork for a special edition: starting Tuesday, digital copies of the Corriere Art Collection (featuring a QR code) will be available for purchase, contributing to the creation of a truly unique collection.
Giovanni Rizzoli (Venice, 1963) is an eclectic and independent voice within the international art scene. A sculptor, painter, and performer, he has combined academic activity with the writing of poetry over time. His work offers a profound reflection on the tensions of the present.
This piece is a clear example: fully aware that our covers bear witness to the Zeitgeist, the spirit of our troubled times, the artist intervenes on somber and painful news stories with bright colors, introducing a glimmer of hope: a red heart, a vase overflowing with flowers, a breast nourishing the joy of life. Just as Simone Weil poignantly reminds us, “Joy is our escape from time.”
