#755 "Note di parole" by Mario Velocci
Description
Description
He is called the farmer artist. Yet despite living embraced by the protective landscape of the ploughed fields in the countryside around Frosinone, Mario Velocci is an tireless creator working within a symbolic world that explores the dialogue between art, sound, and environment. Dedicated to the one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of Corriere della Sera, Mario Velocci’s work stands as a threshold between memory and matter, between the engraved time of history and the invisible vibration of sound. The piece featured on our cover belongs to the cycle of the “Sound Sculptures”: almost a musical instrument with a special six-line staff that preserves the masthead of our newspaper and the anniversary dates not as simple celebratory symbols, but as imprints of a collective consciousness embedded in the memory of the nation. Entitled Notes of Words, the work will be available at newsstands starting Tuesday with a QR Code that, through the Corriere Art Collection app, provides access to its digital version. Mario Velocci’s sculpture thus becomes a tribute to the very idea of testimony: to the human need to understand and narrate, to leave an imprint on time, and to preserve a voice capable of resisting silence.
