Description
The work by the artistic duo Bertozzi & Casoni suspends time between memory and the present. It is both a tribute to the language of art and a celebration: we see a copy of Corriere della Sera dated December 23, 1947, the day the approval of the Constitution was announced accompanied by a branch of peach blossoms, a clear metaphor for rebirth.
The piece becomes a symbolic device to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Corriere della Sera, while also honoring our Constitution, born from the ruins of the post-war period. Bertozzi & Casoni is the artistic name of Giampaolo Bertozzi (Borgo Tossignano, Bologna, 1957) and Stefano Dal Monte Casoni (Lugo di Romagna, Ravenna, 1961 - Imola, 2023).
After Casoni’s passing, Bertozzi continues the duo’s artistic project, creating this ceramic work specifically for the occasion, emphasizing a sense of fragility and renewal. This is a truly special cover: starting Tuesday, it will be available on newsstands with a QR code that, through the Corriere Art
Collection app, provides access to the digital version of the artwork, certified as an NFT.
In the still silence of that distant page, we also discover the title of the editorial, which becomes a commitment, a warning, almost an exhortation never to be forgotten: “Faith in freedom.”
